One recent morning Avery woke up early: closer to 6 than her normal 6:30 or 7. When I went to see her, I said we needed to be quiet because the rest of the house was asleep; every morning since, she has put her fingers to her lips and said, “Shhh, Zoe and Daddy sleeping” (regardless of whether they are or not). And the other afternoon, when I told my mom on Skype that Zoe was napping, Avery gave her the “shh” sign – see below. She’s becoming quite considerate when it comes to other people’s sleep needs!
