A sweet gift
When I went to pick up Zoe at Elena’s yesterday, one of the little girls there told me that Zoe had a surprise for me. After playfully scolding the girl for ruining the surprise, Elena presented me with a brown paper bag with the words “Happy Mother’s Day, Love Zoe” written on it. Inside was the sweetest little homemade wooden flower frame – with a picture of Zoe in the middle! I got all teary-eyed (I’m such a sap) as I thanked and hugged Elena and, of course, Zoe. I really couldn’t have been happier (or more touched) if Elena had handed me a $100 bill, and I couldn’t help but feel very blessed: for having such a wonderful little baby, for having found a loving and caring babysitter and – most of all – for being a mom.

PS – I should note that this wasn’t even Zoe’s first gift to me. On Thursday, she sent to my office flowers that she had ordered online! Now, isn’t she thoughtful – and good with the computer??

Michelle, I wouldn’t say you are a sap, just a very proud and grateful Mom. I believe you understand how Moms feel. What a cute gift.
I think her Daddy is thoughtful and good with the computer and I am sure Zoe will be some day as well. I’m sure the flowers were pretty, also.
Hope you have a happy Mother’s Day!!
Love, from YOUR mom

Well, I was teary- eyed too. Reading what you wrote Michelle, made me cry. How wonderful of a mother you are to appreciate every little thing that is happening in yours and Zoe’s lives. I have to admit that getting to such a stage in ones life usually does not happen with the first child. It take a lot of maturity to get there, and you got it.
Love,
from your Emma (the other Mom)
