At the doctor’s

I could be the only person in the world who gets sentimental over going to the doctor – and I did, indeed, feel a bit sad when at my 6-week postnatal check-up today. This is likely the last appointment I’ll have there, and I felt emotional when thinking of all that has transpired over the last few months. (The last time I was in that office, little Avery was still in my stomach!) I said as much to one of the nurses, who wisely pointed out that this isn’t just the end of something – but also the beginning. She’s right, of course, and I have tons of things – with both Avery and Zoe – to look forward to. (And the truth is, I’m pretty happy about no longer being pregnant!)

Speaking of doctor’s appointments, Avery also had one on Friday. She had to have her platelets checked again (they were nice and high, as was expected), and also got weighed. She’s up to 11 lbs, 8 oz. and is in the 95 percentile for both weight and height. As I told Q, I think we’re incapable of having small babies!

It will be fun to follow the red and blue lined graph that you put up a while ago following each doctor appointment for Avery to see how her growth compares with Zoe’s at the same stage. You may have low platelets, but your milk must be exceedingly nutricious.

OK, Avery needs her own posting with the report from the doctor, just like you did for Zoe. Not as an after thought and after Michelle’s doctor report. Guys……equal posting for the girls…..you do not want to give Avery a complex when she is 20 and reading this blog, do you?
