“Dude”
Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008Have you seen that Bud Light TV commercial where the guy says “dude” again and again? He uses that one word to get his point across in a variety of situations (when he wants a co-worker to stop making so much noise, when he scolds someone for cutting in line in front of him at the movies, etc.), and the commerical always makes me laugh. Lately, it’s also reminded me of Zoe – who is a big fan of using just one word to express herself. Her word isn’t “dude,” but “mommy,” and she spends a good amount of time walking around the house saying it over and over again. In her case, “mommy” is not only a way to greet me, but also (and more commonly) a way to say, “I’m having fun,” “I’m hungry,” “I’m bored,” or even “Hi, Daddy.” It’s definitely one of her favorite words, and I must admit: I never get tired of hearing it!
